Personal hobby
One of my colleagues once remarked that I "don't have a life" because I do not have a Netflix account or watch football games. I strongly disagree and would like to share a few of my personal hobbies that bring me joy.
I like skiing even though I am not good at it. Finding ski slopes is challenging, especially in the Netherlands.
I like driving, but I don't own a car. I rent a car during holidays or when I need a break from my lovely work.
I enjoy wandering the streets to think about life, work, philosophy, and what to have for dinner.
I like delicious food and love searching for good restaurants when I travel. The cafeteria on the TU Delft campus tortures me.
I like drinking beer. I am concerned that alcohol could damage my intelligence, so I am slooowly quitting it.
Last but not least, I love my work with dreams and freedom. My work is part of the meaning of my life, and the other part is my wife.
Our family totem is Mola mola (ocean sunfish) with the spirit of being independent, diligent, persistent, and doing the thing you believe in.
